Dessert without baking! These scrumptious cakes were created for us by Rowena's, a Virginia-based gourmet food company. Best known for their melt-in-your-mouth pound cakes, these are two of Rowena's signature recipes. For our readers only, the cakes are baked in the Nordic Ware Bavaria Bundt Pan, elegant for all occasions. Packaged for gift giving, each 44 ounce cake is about 9 1/2 inches in diameter by 3 1/2 inches high and serves 16 to 20. The Almond Pound Cake comes with 9 ounces of tangy lemon curd topping; the Chocolate Pound Cake comes with 9 ounces of rich raspberry topping. Or serve either cake with ice cream, sliced fruit, or creamy whipped topping. Unless you specify another date, all cakes will be shipped to arrive by Valentine's Day, February 14, 2005.
